New exhibition to feature works of Baroque period artist Francesco de Mura, April 21―July 2
The exhibition In the Light of Naples: The Art of Francesco de Mura features the works of Francesco de Mura, a great painter of the Baroque and Rococo periods, and will be on view at Vassar College’s Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center from April 21 through July 2, 2017. Organized by the Cornell Fine Arts Museum at Rollins College, In the Light of Naples is the first monographic presentation of De Mura’s art and includes over forty loans from Italian collections as well as from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Art. There will be an opening lecture for the exhibit on Friday, April 21 at 5:30pm in Taylor Hall, room 102, and a reception will follow in the Art Center. All events are free and open to the public.
